JOB TITLE: Craft Befriender - Regular Volunteering
PURPOSE: By joining us as a regular volunteer, you will be able to share your strengths as a crafter coach to empower our community. You can regularly craft with our beneficiaries and share your experiences with them, while also listening to their thoughts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Open to SUSS students and project / skill-based volunteers. Volunteers should have basic crafting ideas and be able to guide the crafters to complete simple crafting.
- Looking for individuals with good interpersonal and communication skills.
TRAINING:
- Two trainings are required: Module 1 (with Social Gifting) and Module 2 (with Rainbow Centre / Lions Befrienders)
COMMITMENT:
- The standard commitment time is 12 months, which includes planning for craftwork and the process of conducting the actual crafting with the beneficiaries.
- Be able to regularly visit a crafter, at least twice a month, and craft with them for a year via either online or physical mode.
ADDITIONAL NOTE:
- VIA certification is given to students, upon request.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
- Crafter Coach: You can apply your skills and guide our beneficiaries in making crafts. You can choose to adopt one of our current product lines, or you can teach new and innovative crafts. Idea sourcing can be done by looking at other crafters’ works or from social media sites.
